South East Dog Rescue is a rescue centre based in Kent with a genuine NO KILL policy. Run by Kymm White, a canine behaviourist who has trained at The Natural Animal Centre, the rescue is dedicated to helping all dogs in need - even the most troubled. Since opening its doors in 2009 SEDR have succesfully rehabilitated and rehomed 100's of dogs. Through detailed behaviour modification programmes, love, care and patience these dogs have gone onto find forever homes - a goal which seemed so far away at the time of rescue. Unfortunately there are some dogs who have been treated so cruelly that they would find living in a conventional home just too stressful - and those dogs live at the Rescue for the rest of their lives, there are approx. 20 dogs who call SEDR home. SEDR is dedicated to helping those dogs who have been deemed 'beyond help' and are often scheduled for PTS, and unfortunately over the years they have seen a dramatic increase in the number of dogs in this situation and needing their help. In 2014 the rescue was overwhelmed and struggled to find space to help all of the dogs who needed them - and in order to keep being there for each and every dog then they realised they needed more space. So 2015 is the year that SEDR will be building the new accomodation for dogs - both short stay and long stay. The landowner of the rescue has kindly agreed to double the size of the existing site for free so they desperately need funds to help them build new barns, fences and gates etc. They have undertaken various fundraising activities such as auctions, competitions etc but they need much more to enable them to complete the work by the end of Summer 2015. If you would like more information on the Rescue or the project itself please email me and I can send details across.
