I aim to Bikepack South America starting in Ecuador, across Peru, into Chile, the patagonia's to el fin de mundo.
Three years ago I started my first solo trip beginning in central Canada and down the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route covering 2200 miles in 3 months ending in southern Colorado. Since then I've been hooked and aim to do it full time, in the harshest of conditions and remote places in the world.
Starting this February I've logged over 2800 miles throughout the US, solo and self sufficient. Covering Arizona, Utah, Nevada to the California Coast. After a short break late April I rode the the Telimena byway into Arkansas before departing to the Black Hills in South Dakota. I continued through Wyoming, Montana and returning home after I hit central Washington. A few weeks later I found myself exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia.
Throughout the trip I've ridden through blizzards, taken shelter in culverts during hail storms, had hypothermia and heat exhaustion, woke up to a river surge flooding my campsite in a foot of water, met a lot of amazing people, a few cruel, had a raven at the Grand Canyon steal my frying pan, and rode all night sleep deprived to evade grizzly bears. And and anxious to see what South America has in store for me.
I'm putting everything I have into funding this trip, also hoping to find a riding partner and eventually professional sponsorship. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated, they will help travel expenses, food budget, replacing worn gear and the rare motel room and hot shower. Direct donations other then cash such as gear, food or travel credits would be amazing.
