My name is Zanda Isaacs and I am one of the few performers who have been selected to represent South Africa at the Applause Rising Talent Show (ARTS) in Orlando, Florida in July 2016. The ARTS Convention is a once in a lifetime opportunity for upcoming rising artists, like myself, to showcase their talents and abilities to top scouting agents from BET, Tyler Perry Studios, Click Model Management, Disney, Sony BMG and Universal Records to name a few. I have also been accepted into, and received a partial scholarship from the New York Film Academy to study Musical Theater and Film beginning September 2016.
The ARTS Convention is not merely a competition, but a learning experience that entails one-on-one meetings with scouting agents and a series of workshops conducted by industry professionals.
The New York Film Academy is an internationally acclaimed conservatory that provides hands on experience and commends itself on a 'Learning by Doing' philosophy. The New York Film Academy provides students with the tools and the know-hows that they actually apply what they learn in class in the real world, making for an educational experience unlike any other.
Ultimately, my goal is to become a Broadway musical theater performer, actress and recording artist. The ARTS Convention would afford me the opportunity to showcase my skills and talent on an internationally acclaimed stage and secure an international agent that would provide me with interntional work once I have completed my studies at the New York Film Academy.
I make it my mission to reach hearts when I perform. I communicate through my music.
Every morning I wake up knowing that there is nothing more in the world I would like to do. I cannot imagine doing anything else apart from performing for the rest of my life – I live and breathe the arts. This is what keeps me motivated and pushes me to work harder each and every day.
The cost to attend a showcase like this, filled with influential agents and scouts in one room, is more than I can afford on my own. With your help, my dream could become a reality that could encourage countless other young South Africans and Africans to follow their dreams and work hard for them.
