South African Adventure

My name is Sarah and I have been accepted to participate overseas in a volunteer and leadership program with EDventure. EDventure is a volunteer organization which offers participants leadership and personal development certification, whilst engaging in meaningful volunteer projects in the developing world. I will be travelling with EDventure as a volunteer, assisting in a humanitarian/conservation projects in South Africa. During my program, I will spend 3 weeks engaging in leadership development workshops with other volunteers, while applying these skills directly to efforts in wildlife sanctuaries/rural schools in South Africa. I am contacting you to request sponsorship for a portion of my program costs.  I will be directly involved in creating positive change and providing direct support within South Africa. While working in classrooms/conservation efforts, I will teach groups of children reading and writing skills, art, and organize sports and group activities/help care for wildlife, and learn firsthand about environmental issues that affect us on a global scale. While assisting in South Africa, I will have direct contact with community members and community leaders, while also engaging in local cultural activities. This will help me to expand my international network, to understand the local communities and to build bridges with another culture that will further develop my global leadership skills. This experiences will no doubt push me beyond my comfort zone and allow me to fully experience learning in a new and unique format. Additionally, this experience will provide me the skills I need to enhance my resume/CV and prepare me to be an asset in the professional world as I pursue a career in Primary Teaching. I am very excited to have been accepted to the EDventure program, and am preparing for my trip by organizing fundraising activities at Hangtime Trampoline Park as well as selling fundraising chocolates throughout my local community.  Any financial sponsorship you/your company could provide for my EDventure Program would be greatly appreciated. The overall cost for the 3 week program is $3500 (excluding flights).  This includes my accommodation, meals, project resources, transportation within South Africa, and financial support for the community in which I will be volunteering.  Even a minimal donation or sponsorship will help me toward this incredible opportunity.
