Sound 4 You – TRANSPORT MONEY NEEDED

We are from Cape Town - South Africa.

We would like to transport our Sound 4 You Teenage students to UCT Radio for DJ training so they can host their own radio shows.

Sound 4 You is a budding social enterprise. We are a Christian-based organisation. We teach sound, music technology, final mix, sound for tv/film, voice over training and production podcasting, and media production. We teach for profit at schools which can afford the fees and then we use some of that money (and from other income generating activities) to make it possible to teach a subsidised programs at community centres and schools in need.

Who are we?

Sound 4 You teaches for profit at St Joseph's Marist Brothers, Christian Brothers College Parkland, Emmanuel Christian Academy and the not for profit at the ICAN Centre in Elsies River and Cravenby High School. We use the money from the profit schools to help us to get to and from Cravenby High School and to purchase gear.

We have also done free projects at the ICAN Centre - we teach voice over training and production, where we are educating members of the community to become voice over artists - to work part time for another sister company GOO. We are also starting an after school program at the ICAN Centre in Term 3.

We have selected learners from CRAVENBY HIGH SCHOOL and the ICAN CENTRE ELSIES RIVER for the UCT Radio Training Program. We need money to transport our learners from Elsies River to UCT Radio in Rondebosch for training to become Radio DJ's (starting next week) and then also for them to continue with weekly radio dj shows for the campus radio station. Our learners are all teenagers and this may open up great opportunities for them in the future.

Elsies river and Cravenby are notorious for gangsterism, drugs and poverty. We believe this opportunity will give these teenagers a great stepping stone towards the greatness they deserve in life.

We would like $1200 as this would cover Uber transportation costs to and from Elsies River/Cravenby. This would be once a week on a Friday or Saturday.
