It's been a rough week... Sophie's hind legs have been paralyzed since Sunday 6/18. After an overnight stay at the emergency vet and several regular vet visits later, the neurologist made it clear we were at a point where an MRI was our best bet to figure out what's going on and will determine what the next step is to getting Sophie better.
Originally we were raising money to help us cover the cost of the MRI, but after we got the results back from it we're even more desperate. The neurologist and radiologist concluded that she needs surgery on a herniated disc in her back. They are not 100% sure it's a disc issue (it may have been a spinal stroke) but they are both in agreement that the herniated disc is the most likely cause of the paralysis in her hind legs. The great news is that it's very treatable and with surgery she should make a full recovery!
