Campaign Story
After the war, Somalia was amongst the most dangerous countries to live in, although there has been war there, there are many who have sacrificed their lives to make a change. Some have lost their lives through the process and some have survived. Somali Peace gives recognition and appreciation to those people who have contributed to rebuild our country through politics and NGOs. It is an honor to have the opportunity to honor these people who made great impact in our lives.
The winner of Somali Peace Award 2016 is Osman Mohammud Dufle is a Somali physician and politician. He previously served as a Minister of Health in the Transitional National Government of Somalia. Dufle was also one of the founders of the Joint Medical Committee, a professional organization for doctors in the country. Additionally, he served as a volunteer at the Keysaney Hospital in Mogadishu. In June 2014, he was nominated for a Noble Prize in recognition of his humanitarian work.
The winner were announced February 20th and will receive the award in 21.05.2016
