Water is always a problem here. Reason; large ever growing population. The water supply system in place was initially designed to serve a certain number of persons but nows serves upto 10 times. This means there's hardly enough water for everyone.

Privatization of the available water resources is the bigger problem. Few individuals exploit the it to their own advantage making the water very expensive. Eg, a gallon of water (20, litres) goes for Ksh 10(0.1 USD) in mlolongo town.

The solution to the water crisis is Supply more water. Boreholes are an excellent source of clean reliable water. I have managed to sink one in mlolongo town, placed all the necessary structure for Water supply. My goal is to eliminate the problem of water scarcity.

The other problem hindering affordable water is power. Running pumping equipment is quite expensive whilst using electricity. That's means even if the problem of water is eliminated, it's quite expensive

Solar energy is the solution. Mlolongo area receives upto 11 months of sunlight making solar energy a very good energy solution.

Solar panels are environmentally friendly and doesn't have running costs. This means that if we use solar energy to pump the Water, the cost per gallon will go to 2ksh (0.02 USD:) From Ksh 10(0.1 USD)

Kindly support us with solar panels. The community of mlolongo will appreciate.
