The SNFC Swimathon in support of
The Nottinghamshire Freemasons DOPPLER appeal
-and other Local charities and good causes if funds allow-
This is very worthy scheme to assist the QMC University Hospital purchase a
Duplex Ultrasonic Scanner (DOPPLER)
which will ensure more successful operations on Liver and Pancreatic cancers.
An ultra sonic device which shows with great accuracy a three-dimensional picture of cancer nodes.
So that with minimum invasion it identifies the precise location of each cancer node enabling it's complete elimination and increasing the success rate from 60% to an incredible 96%
400 such operations are carried out at the QMC each year, with your help we can
save an extra 144 lives next year alone !
The cost of a Doppler scanner is £43,000 of which over half has already been raised..... with your help we hope to have this life-saving equipment installed in the QMC by Christmas 2013.
Thank you for your generosity x
