This initiative is run by Nick Evans of KwaZulu-Natal Amphibian & Reptile Conservation, a proud chapter of The Lawrence Anthony Earth Organization.

I provide a free snake removal surface to residents in rural areas, and to low-income households. Highly venomous species such as Black Mambas (my favorite) and Mozambique Spitting Cobras are some of the snakes I am commonly called out to remove. I'm also occasionally called for Boomslang, Pythons, Monitor Lizards, and rarely, even crocodiles!

For me, its fun of course, but its work that I truly believe is really important. The snakes deserve saving, and they have an important role to play in our environment. It's also important for the residents, who fear for their lives. Sometimes, residents will try to kill the unwanted snake, and this can result in them being bitten. But when they know that help is available, they generally always call, which benefits both them and the snake.

Funds will go towards to the rescue and relocation of these snakes. None of the snakes are sold, they're all released.

Funds will also go towards snake awareness talks that I do, and want to do in such areas, to educate communities about their slithering, misunderstood neighbors!

When donating, please ensure that you include "SNAKE" in the reference to the LAEO account.

Updates will be posted on my FaceBook page: https://www.facebook.com/KZNHerpConservation/?ref=... as well as in my monthly newsletter (to subscribe, email me at [email protected])
