In the beginning it seemed like impossible but now we are celebrating the ten years of Services since the establishment of SMV health Center. It was in July 2012 along Kigoma and Bukoba Streets in Ilala municipality where this noble idea of having women for women health center gained its momentum. The Sunshine Muslim Volunteers (SMV), the organisation owning the Center was able to mobilize funds from the community to open the health center, one of its kind in the country.

To date: the center has been able to provide services to more than 50,000 women, more than 3000 babies delivered , and more than 500 women operated for different gynaecological and surgical diseases.

The journey had lots of bumps in between but we are finally celebrating these ten years of our existence in the health field.

Looking at the customers, we are convinced enough that the demand is huge as it forced us to shift from the small house we rented to the current four storey building along Uhuru Road at Bungoni.

However, with this big space, we have not been able to utilize it in its full capacity. We are currently using the ground floor, 1^st floor and half of the 2^nd floor. The third and fourth floor are completely not in use.

Our laboratory and diagnostic capacity is quite limited, we therefore refer lots of patients to other hospitals for diagnostic procedures and treatment

In celebrating this 10 years anniversary, we have decided to come up with this idea to fundraise US$ 500,000 to upgrade our health center to a super-specialized hospital.
