I rescued Smokey's mom from the streets when she was pregnant with him. She gave birth to 6 beautiful kittens. Smokey was one of the kittens his mother rejected. She would take him out of the box and leave him in random places around my home. I ended up bottle feeding Smokey with replacement milk until he was big enough to eat hard food. I was up with him every two hours (including night) feeding and making him use the bathroom to make sure he stayed alive.
Smokey is the only one with health issues. I have noticed recently that his ability to use his hind legs is becoming more and more limited. Instead of running and jumping with his brothers and sisters, he hobbles around in hopes of not falling over. I have decided to keep Smokey as my pet. He requires a lot of attention and medical care. I have to pick him up and put him in the litter box when he needs to use it as he can't jump or climb well.
If I can't raise enough money to help cover his medical costs, I fear that he may lose all ability to use his hind legs. I will love him and keep him either way, but I would like to know that I have tried everything I could to allow him to keep his mobility. On behalf of Smokey, I am asking you to please help us raise the $200.00 so he can have a chance at a normal life. He really is a sweet boy that deserves the use of his back legs!
If Smokey's fund is raised over the asking amount, I will donate the rest to the ASPCA in hopes that it will help other animals find safe, loving homes.
