About Us

Hi! My name is Azam Rasid, a founder of Virtareal Sdn Bhd. We are a tech startup company which enthusiast in immersive technology which are Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality & Mixed Reality. We started our journey since 2016 in developing various project in VR & AR with local entities and international too. Most of our work in industrial sector but we are passionate in developing an education content for our young generation that are live in this technology era.

Why Education?

I have 2 kids. Both of them 8 & 4 years old. Since early age, they are expose to high-tech gadget such as tablet and smart phone, even a hololens! I saw that this is going to be a bad thing ever for them playing around with gadgets all day long. As a responsible parent, I told my team to develop something educational application for kids, so for the first time ever, we has publish one apps called Virtakids (please visit www.virtareal.com for details). It is a VR education in engineering. It is so interesting and more than hundreds of kids try this edutainment apps during 2017 when we went thru exhibitions. But unfortunately, this products need a high end devices which cost more than RM5,000 for a single user. Not everyone able to commit for this kind of edutech till now.

After several research and validation, I found out that Augmented Reality is more way affordable for parent to get it for their kids! All around the world has use Augmented Reality for teaching & training purposes right now. It has widely grow more than USD 7.6 billion market size so far. The most important is, it has improve 85% of understanding using this immersive technology.

Augmented Reality is not just a tech. It is a tools to help students engage with the content and yet memorized what they learn, 90% faster than before. When your eyes look & read, only 10% will locked up in your memory, but with interactive, audio visual and touch, you will definitely remember 90% of what you experience!

Relax and chill. Before this, we has develop in engineering & science content, but in Virtual Reality which has not yet affordable by user since the devices for VR are quite expensive. Then we found that, there are lack of educational, especially in languages - so we choose Jawi & Arabic as our first development. Actually it is not only for Muslim only, its a languages! Everybody can learn this awesome and beautiful language since there are a lot of us meet with Arabic people and even travel to their country too. In Malaysia itself, we have 8-12% of Middle East expatriates here. So it is good to learn other language rather than English.

Smart Aulad is a simple learning method approaches that we implement which you & your kids will start learn about daily items, verbs and other basic terms. Our plans is to create more than 1,000 words and simple sentences combine with interactive animation so that it will be easier to memorize and understand.

Risks & Challenges

There's always a risk and challenge while doing a business. I'm aware of the consequences of adaptation of people in the world to this kind edutech products. Skeptical and rejection always there since years ago.

But, what's more important is to achieve our vision, is to start now. As Apple Inc got rejection in their early stage and keep on developing new technology and become one of the largest company now.

As an entrepreneur, I believe that to overcome these hurdles, I need to plan for solving these risks and challenges.

1. Smart Aulad plans to collaborate with Ministry of Education to provide digital content using immersive technology, so we are creating contents that are related to the school's syllabus now.

2. Smart Aulad plans to venture with local publisher to distribute the physical products and reduce our risk of un-sell inventory.

3. Smart Aulad plans to partnership with private institutions to do marketing and awareness. There are high buying power with consumer in this sector.
