Small Island Cricketer

I, Hassan Ibrahim, the former Captain of the Maldives National Cricket Team, am seeking sponsorship's to cover the costs associated with an international training opportunity with the Melbourne Renegades (International T20 Franchise Team) in Australia. In addition to this, I will be playing for Carlton Cricket Club in Victoria Premier Cricket.

Since starting my career in 1999, I have represented Maldives at various international cricket tournaments playing for the Under 15s, Under 19s and the National Cricket Team. Through my hard work and sheer dedication, I was appointed the captain-ship of the national team, to which I was first selected in 2006 as the youngest player, as well as being an influential part of the winning Team at the 2010 ACC Trophy Challenge in Thailand. I also had the honor of leading the first ever Maldives National Team in an International Cricket Council event earlier this year (ICC World T20 Qualifying)

I have made history by becoming the first Maldivian cricketer to secure a professional contract to play outside of the Maldives, by playing in the Malaysian Premier League and Malaysian Cricket Association Inter-State Fast Track League 2016. Last year, I had my highest level of experience in club cricket, play for Carlton Cricket Club in the Victoria Premier Cricket and training with the Melbourne Renegades in Australia. My hard work and achievements in the international stage has been acknowledged in the Maldives, with the National Award of Recognition in Sportsmanship in the year 2012.

My dreams and aspirations have not stopped at this. Currently I am training in the Maldives under the guidance of a world-class coach who has worked with international team such as Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and also top franchises such as Islamabad United and Adelaide Strikers. My aim is to be franchised cricketer at global cricket leagues.

To achieve my goal, I believe this opportunity with the Melbourne Renegades will be the setting stone of my journey from a small island cricketer to a global cricket star.
