UPDATE!!!! After a 20 day hospital stay and many prayers.....Jack was discharged today from the University of Iowa Hospitals. We are happy to be home as a family of four. Hoping we do not have anymore hospital stays in our future!! But we could have never got through this without all your love, support and prayers!!!!! The Lord has blessed Seth and I with such amazing and thoughtful friends and family. In a time of need you realize who your true friends are and we realized Jack sure has a pretty big fan club!!! Your generosity has been overwhelming bringing Seth and I to tears. We could never thank each one of you individually but want you to know how much your generosity mes to our family. For everyone who donated to the Small BUT Mighty Fund, sent cards to the house and offered us love, support and prayers. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We could never explain in words how much it means to our family!!!! To Keely who started this page for our family and baby Jack you truly are an amazing and thoughtful person and friend. We love you so much!! We are blessed to have you in our lives!!! To Dusty and Luke you are not only family but our best friends!!! Dusty was also very instrumental in getting the fund started with Keely. She was always their to talk to me when things weren't going so well with baby Jack. She also sent me things just for ME!! Knowing I spent alot of time at the hospital by myself with Jack. You and Luke are truly amazing friends to our family and we LOVE you guys sooo much!!! To my aunt Sharon who has been their helping me with talking to the people at the hospital and being so supportive we could never thank you enough for your love and kindness!! To my BIGGEST supporters and BESTFRIENDS my amazing parents!!!!!! I personally and my family could have never got through Jack's 3 week hospital stay without you. You would drop anything to be here for me or my family. They had planned a trip to go to St. Louis for a few days( their favorite thing to do) but, cancelled to be with my family. You will never know how much it meant just to have you here. Having you guys here helped calm my fears when things weren't going well with Jack. I always knew where to look for a hug!! In the weeks to come I plan to stay home with just the boys for awhile. My daycare families have been very supportive and have found back up care for their children so I can spend some quality time with mine. This would have never been possible without this fund and time with our children as many of you parents know is priceless gift. I want to be able to give Jack some time to recover, heal and continue to get bigger and stronger. To be away from all those nasty germs. We want to be able to bond as a family of four again!! Again, we could never thank you enough for everything that everyone has done for baby Jack and our family!!!!! We appreciate it so much. You all have such huge hearts we hope someday our family can be their for each of your families like you have been their for us. God bless!!!!! Erica, Seth and the boys!!!?

UPDATE!!! Amazingly, we were almost to our original goal of 2,000 dollars raised for the Millers! WOW all that can be said is WOW and thank you thank you all for your generosity and support. It is so greatly appreciated by Seth and Erica and their families. But honestly, that original number was just randomly selected in the distant HOPES that it would be reached. It helps immensly to cover immediate costs for the Millers and what looks like will be at least a week-long stay in the PICU for Baby Jack this time around. Fortunately, Seth and Erica are blessed to have good health insurance so many of the larger medical expenses will be covered, but what isn't covered (and what we can continue to help with) are the emotional strains that Little Jack and his family are going through. Erica took nearly no maternity leave after having little Jack and began almost immediately after his birth, providing daycare for several other children, yet has been unable to work even and entire full week due to Jack being in and out of the PICU. What they really need now is to be home as a family, alone, to recover, heal and continue to bond and for Jack to get bigger and stronger once he comes home.  After speaking to Erica this morning, I've learned that this is what they need most right now and what they intend to do with the funding. She wants to take time off work for several full weeks. Be home with just her boys. Be away from germs. Recover. Heal emotionally. This is what they desprately need. a fresh start. a do-over. SO LETS BLOW THIS OUT OF THE WATER FOR BABY JACK! New goal. $4,000. WE CAN DO IT!!!!!! Wink

As many of you already know, Seth and Erica Miller gave birth to their second beautiful son, Jack Harris on January 25th, 2013. He arrived almost two months premature and had a lengthy and stressful 3.5 week stay in the NICU. After just a few weeks of being home with his family, baby Jack contracted RSV, A dangerous respiratory virus that can be deadly for babies, especially of Jack's 7 lb size. On March 25th he was admited to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to be very closely monitored and after seemingly recovering well, he was sent home on April 3rd. Last night (April 5th) in the middle of the night, Baby Jack stopped breathing and was rushed by ambulance back to UIHC PICU where he will stay until some more answers can be found as to why he is still having a tough time getting better.

The purpose of this fund is to help our dear friends and family members, Erica and Seth, with the enormous burden of Baby Jack's medical expenses. At this point, on their single income budget, even paying for parking at the hospital is becoming a huge weight. Right now, it is unknown how much longer they will be there.

So, please, donate what you can. $5, $20, $50...any amount will be so helpful and so greatly appreciated by this strong but tired family!!!!

This fund was created by Keely Knight. A highschool friend of Erica's.
