SkyDive for Rhys

Hi All,

I am doing a SkyDive from 13,000ft from Swansea Airport on 9th June 2012, to help raise money to purchase a specialist car seat for a little boy named Rhys.

The event has already been fully funded by myself, so all money raised will be donated to Rhys' family to put towards purchasing the specialist equipment he requires.

Please take the time to read the following letter from his mother which talks about Rhys and his condition.

Rhys is our son, he is now four years old and very cheeky, after being born 3 months early and having a traumatic start to life he was diagnosed with Quadriplegic Cerebral palsy, a lifelong condition affecting his ability to walk, stand or even sit without help from specialist equipment.

He spends numerous amounts of time in and out of hospital for different treatments and physiotherapy appointments.

Only the basic of funding and equipment is provided by the local authorities for children like Rhys, the rest is up to us.

He’s now at the age where he’s getting too big for his regular Childs car seat and the next seats that are appropriate for his age, are simply not supportive enough to transport him safely and comfortably in the car with his condition.

We need to now start the process of having him assessed for a specialist disability car seat which can meet his current needs. This type of seating depending on his assessment could be very expensive, when added to all the other daily costs incurred with his condition.

Any fundraising help we are able to find in order to achieve buying this for Rhys would be appreciated greatly and we thank everyone who’s supported us so far in helping to make Rhys life as happy and normal as it can possibly be.
