Skroeioond Rehabilitation Centre (NPO 2013/105770/08) is an initiative by a healed alcoholic & drug addict - over 13 years already - who wants to reach out to the underprivileged in a country torn apart by corruption and crime and where alcohol and drug abuse seems like the only alternative for the young as well as the not so young. We also plan to reach out to those abused as a result of alcohol and drug abuse - with a separate treatment centre in the same complex.
The rehabilitation centre will be situated on a farm between George and Oudtshoorn in the Southern Cape, where the 223 hectare land has already been identified, and will be fully self sufficient and managed as a non-profit organization. The centre will consist of a main building with all the necessary accommodation and treatment facilities for 45 patients. Additional buildings will be as follows: 28 single quarters for staff and family members of the patients, 9 units for abused persons where we will help them find peace again. A 10-foot wall with all the necessary security measures will wall the entire centre.
As salaries, food and maintenance will have to be paid, some patients will have to pay for their treatment, and wherever possible, by medical funds. We have decided on a sliding scale system, where the poorest of the poor will receive their rehabilitation for free.
Patients will be selected on their needs only, and race or standing will play no role, although language of treatment will only be in Afrikaans as I am deaf and can read lips only in Afrikaans.
I would like to clarify that this project is not from Jans Rautenbach,
but is from God and by God. When our people start harvesting the fruit
of this project, all glory will be given to God and not for me. I am
only doing what God has instructed me, as I am only His instrument.
Skroeioond Rehabilitation Centre is for our people and from God. There
will be no personal gains - not for me - a successful author of 3 novels
and a developer - or others who will join this project.
