Campaign Story
Help us to teach kids about making their own skateboards and share our knowledge about caring for the environment, recycling and sustainability.
What is the goal of this project?
Through this new project, Surfpop and WAWA work together to teach the boys about the sustainable practice of making skateboards. By sending the boys to skateboard workshops, they will learn about recycling, sustainability, craftsmanship and how to make their own skateboards. The money we raise covers the costs of the workshop and the materials to make three unique WAWA wooden skateboards that the boys can take home.
What is Surfpop?
Our aim is to establish a way out for children from disadvantaged communities, leading them away from gangsterism, crime and drugs. The ‘way out’ entails a new outlook on life, brought about by the love for surfing, the ocean and caring about the environment. We believe there is a need for people to help children in struggling communities, as they are faced with problems far greater than most of us can imagine.
What is WAWA?
WAWA is a little wooden surfboard and skateboard building company where quality, respect for our roots and a belief in the sanctity of nature are cornerstones. By organizing skate- and surfboard workshops, WAWA tries to share these cornerstones and teach people about the sustainable practice of making surf- and skateboards.
Let’s help the kids have some fun and carve some lines when the waves are flat!
