We are calling out to our friends, partners and family to help us provide 53 children attending Early Childhood Development Education (ECD) in Victoria Falls rural in Sizinda community. The yearly cost of providing this education is just $108.00 a year per child, less than $10.00 a month, and for that you would help to provide a meal every day at school, provide teachers, learning materials, educational and health reports and access to a market garden or granary project. We are hoping as part of this project to raise an additional one-off amount of $1400.00 which will enable us to renovate the classroom and provide an outdoor play area for the children. The renovations will include plastering interior walls, painting, replacing broken windows, plastering and painting ablution facilities to match the number of children.
During the August 2019 holidays we conducted a survey to ascertain why only twenty seven of the fifty three children attended school last term. Our investigations revealed that many of the parents cannot afford tuition fees and some children are young to walk longer distances without sufficient nutrition. This is sadly as a result of the economic hardships in Zimbabwe. We have taken it up as an organization to provide free access to ECD education at this centre. However, we realize that we cannot do this all alone and thus are calling out to our partners and volunteers around the world to help us achieve this goal and educate fifty-three children whilst providing a meal during the school day. The battle is real but together we can make a difference!
