Simpson Special Ed Pre-K Playground

Simpson Elementary School, in Ringgold, GA, supports a Special Education population of 151. Of that number, five classes are Pre-Kindergarten ages 3-5, serving developmental, intellectual and physical disabilities.
Our current play area for these students, needs enhancements to accommodate their specific disabilites. Throughout the '16-'17 school year, a team of teachers and administrators have obtained an appropriate space and designed a playground for all of our young 3,4 and 5 year old children, including a wheelchair accessible path with a variety of interactive panels along the way. The cost of this much needed space is $55,000.
The power of play can not be underestimated. This new playground will provide a space that promotes social interaction and motor strength through sensory stimulation, a space designed to meet childrens' needs and a space to help each child grow both mentally and physically. All donations will go directly toward creating this play space.
