Sim and Sam’s Cedar Point Adventure

Hi Everyone!

My name is Patty and I am a volunteer for a mentoring program in my home town. This program pairs adults with kids in need of positive adult role models in their lives.

My mentee, Sim, and I have been together for about a year and I have enjoyed seeing her go from a quiet and shy girl into someone who is more sure of herself.

We try to get together about three times a month and I have planned some of our visits to include helping others.

We have volunteered for the humane society, made care packages for underprivileged children, and made small gifts for her loved ones.

Recently, Sim mentioned that she would like to make some money to take her best friend, Sam, to a local theme park this summer.

Since she is only 14 years old her resources for making money are limited and as much as I would love to give her the money for this it is a little out of my reach.

Tickets cost nearly $50 each plus extra for food and etc. so I estimate she would need close to $200 to give this adventure to Sam.
