From a very young and fragile age, I was fascinated about the smaller worlds, where tiny living organisms consider it “ big” . This world keeps getting smaller and smaller as we advance as a species, but for example, look at ants - they are small, have much less worries and the world seems a bigger place for them. As our world keeps getting smaller and smaller, our modern problems keep getting bigger. That’s why I am willing to help ourselves, as much as I can. Growing up I started learning, asking my biology and medicine teachers for extra informations, watching documentaries and most the most important thing, reading books all sorts of books in many domains. The important books from where I have gathered my knowledge are the ones about Nanoparticles and the way we interact with them in every way, and every single day. But not just Nanoparticles, also medicine and how these two subjects synthesize together and the way they help us.

Being able to realize a treatment for the latest viruses and infections, means so much to me. Think about it, a world free from deadly infections. That would be an ultimate goal for people like me, who have studied their whole life, achieving something for the greater good, at the end. Some people may ask, and even started to ask me, proudly: Aren’t you too young? – Well, yes, at my age, at 25, some people like to spend their lives doing something insignificant, destroying their lives. Well me, I want to save lives. That’s why I come with ideas, researches, and a new way of thinking.

And here I am, finally presenting a new method, that in my opinion, can change how things will end up for many patients with infections.

My lastest concept device is called Silver Nanoparticle Inhalation Device. Or simply S.N.I.D .

Objectives: We investigate the possibility of obtaining real and effective minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of silver nanoparticles in various respiratory system target locations, therefore suppressing both viral and bacterial respiratory infections. Applications include (1) maintain and control local outbreaks of COVID19 via early stage home treatment, and (2) lower the risk of ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) in hospital ICU. Our prime objective is to assure a first line intervention measure with the ability to suppress the increase and proliferation of the viral infection across the respiratory system, therefore giving more time for proper immune system response and lowering the risk for aggravation and spread of the infection. Afterwards we discuss the available credible evidence for human safety consideration, by inhalation delivery, for facilitating immediate clinical trials. In addition, we discuss possible and yet needed manufacturing and commercial availability of the method elements for near term wide and global public usage.

Method: Grounded on previously published experimental data, on the antiviral effectiveness of colloidal silver, we propose a new model method and computation for achieving antiviral MIC of silver particles in various respiratory system locations, by: (1) analysing the nanoparticle size dependent required concentration. (b) computing the required aerosol delivery properties. In order to compute the required delivery dosage, we take into consideration deposition fraction losses and also inhalation time fraction of the normal breathing cycles that vary from person to person. We evaluate independent targeting of: (i) the trachea-bronchial tree (mucus volume of about 1cc), and (ii) the alveoli (total mucus volume of about 10cc).

Design: Pretty much like a normal inhaler, a bit more sophisticated with new dosage technologies, according to the recommended dose of nanoparticles in the aerosol wich is 1/3 of the normal breathing cycle. Usage instructions included, of course.

Why silver nanoparticles? In our research documents, you have all the data you need and beyond it. And on top of that, I personally use it, as well as many acquaintances of mine, and more. I, honestly, don’t know when was the last time I have got a flu , or got ill. Somehow rudimentary, the way I inhale the silver Nanoparticles, but it works out just fine. Although, things are going to be changed with this research and a future development is going to be arranged.
