We have had great success in providing a refuge for these old, abused and mistreated animals… we can only help as many as your donations allow us to afford. This is where you can join us as an animal rescuer. With your donations, save even more animals from terrible fates. We are a non-profit organization. Thank you for the lives we will save due to your help.
PawFriends Silver Muzzle Sanctuary takes in the Oldie Goldies and gives them a home filled with love while their emotional and health needs are tended. When they are ready - being healthy and happy - we allow them to be adopted into the very best homes. Many times elderly people are happy to share their lives with an older, less active dog who can offer them companionship and love.
The dogs we rescue and nurture have lost their dignity and their belief they are worth being loved. Once here, their lives turn around and they are allowed to be the wonderful, kindhearted animals happy animals they are all meant to be. It is amazing to see how being in a calm, friendly environment, medical care, nutritious food including veggie/meat broth, and of course lots of love, allows them to blossom.
PawFriends Animal Rescue Org. began in the townships of Cape Town in July of 2010. We started by feeding the dogs and cats out of the boot of our cars. As the scope of the number of animals in desperate need became known to us, we realised we needed to offer many services such as spaying, vaccinations, feeding, deworming, dip days, emergency vet care etc.
We grew to helping more and more animals over the 9 years. We saw the need to create the Silver Muzzle Sanctuary as a result of what animals go through when they get older in these very poor township communities. They are left to starve on the doorstep of their home with no food, no water, no shelter and no vet care for their special needs. They are considered useless and are left to slowly and agonizingly die. Silver Muzzle Sanctuary knows they have lots to give still. One of our oldie rescues has become a support dog for autistic children.
We are seeking donations for funding in the following areas:
- Spay / Neuter
- Deworming and dipping of the animals with mange.
- Tick and flea medicine
- Vaccinations including rabies
- The vet bills for the injured and sick dogs.
The average cost of 1 animal intake:
- Veterinary checks and Spay / Neuter : $50
- De-worming and anti tick/flea meds: $20
- Senior food for one (1) month: $30
So for the low amount of $100, you can drastically improve the life of an animal and ensure they are on the path to a healthy, happy life. This includes the intake, rehabilitation, and support for 1 month. If you find an oldie you on our Instagram page at pawfriends_ct , you can request your sponsorship go to that dog.
Any donations from you will go a long way and are greatly appreciated. All volunteers do NOT take a salary so all proceeds go to the animals in need. If you would like to make a monthly or one-time donation, please see our donation info below. Our PayPal chip is [email protected]
Thank you and God bless!
