Sickle cell disease is emotionally and financially draining disease especially to economically unstable families. For the past two years I have been purchasing prophylaxis medications to needy children living with sickle cell disease . Am launching a campaign to get funds to pay for a five year medical cover for 20 needy children living with the disease .

• Cost of medicines used for prophylaxis in sicklers is high and many families rarely afford.

2. For the last two years, have been supporting around ten children living with sickle cell disease by buying their drugs

3.Despite taking their daily medication some still get sickle cell crisis and have to be admitted in hospital which is usually very expensive to these poor families

5. The last time I made a family visit to one home, I was really traumatized by seing a 12 years old boy in sickle cell crisis, savere chest and bone pain but couldn’t be taken to hospital because of lack of money. Very painful situation
