Shorty’s Journey

Let me start by saying that we try to help everyone else’s causes with donations or our time & we always try to pay a little towards NYBC’s vet bill when we go to vet with 1 of our dogs. We have 6 dogs now (our Malibu passed away in April due to cancer, we & she decided it was time for her to go wait for us at The Rainbow Bridge) 4 of our dogs we rescued from NYBC whom we love so very much & try to help them as much as we can. So it pains me to have to ask for help because of all the medical fees with Shorty. We do not have any pet insurance, because we would have needed 7 policies & then if we only opted for insurance for some of our dogs, how do you pick & choose which ones? So here we are paying for everything out of pocket, yes some of our vets have been good to us knowing we rescue but it all still adds up! So as some of you have followed our journey & how we adopted Chevy & Fendi (together), then we foster failed with Sassy, then came Miss Shorty. Some may know that she was being sold in FL with her sisters in a cardboard box at 5 weeks old, so Craig from NYBC had people in FL buy them & transport them here, long story short (no pun intended lol) we adopted Shorty because she was the runt & had these huge ears, everyone passed her up, so of course we said ok lol & she came home with us.
