The Department of Surgery
Happy Feet Shoe Drive
September 29, 2016 – October 18, 2016
Did you know?
Each CPS Case Worker oversees more than 100 children per month. An overwhelming number of children come from situations where they do not have the opportunity to receive a new pair of shoes every year. Many children wear the same pair of shoes year after year due to the lack of funds and/or care within their family unit.
How will Surgery make a difference?
The Department of Surgery is teaming up with Child Protective Services (CPS) to conduct the “Happy Feet” Shoe Drive. We want to collect and be able to donate NEW AND UN-WORN shoes to the CPS Rainbow Room. All shoe sizes are encouraged, but they are very low on stock for boys and girls sizes 3-13 and adult sizes 1-7. Please keep in mind, winter is coming so we would prefer not to donate summer shoes. Socks are welcome as well. The drop off locations for the shoes are Surgical Oncology NB2.352, the Department of Surgery Chairman’s Office E7.116, and Multi-Disciplinary Surgery WA3.430.
Where’s the fun?
As giving as we are as a department, we also are competitive! The division that donates the most pairs of shoes will win a Pizza Party! YUMMY! Please make sure you sign the Shoe Drive Log! We want YOUR team to win! J
