Campaign Story
"Project Shine On" is the first of what we hope will be many projects. A collaboration between the INSEAD Energy Club and the Career Development Centre; the aim is to provide solar electricity to not-for-profit organisations around the world who are doing "work for good", in line with the INSEAD, a Force For Good motto.
Our first project is in Sapang Palay in the Philippines where the Assumption Development Foundation have been doing incredible work for many years in helping children from the local area to lift themselves out of the poverty cycle. Graduates from ADF have gone on to become engineers, educators, medical professionals and all of them point to the life changing moment when they received a scholarship to the school.
The project will help to reduce the energy costs the Foundation has to pay, provide learning materials for the students, restore the school and help with scholarships to enable the Foundation to continue their great work. On top of this, it will provide students from the INSEAD Energy Club some hands on experience on a solar installation project and a template for more future projects like this in the coming years.
