Sherryl's life has had a lot of change in it recently and I could see that she was in need of more support than we were able to provide so I thought it was a great idea to start a gogetfunding page for her.

Hi, my name is George Scopelitis and I'm Sherryl's employer. I first met Sherryl about 4 years ago when she started working for me as my remote Personal Assistant, at the time she was a self-sufficient and recognized engineer professional, living in Mangaldan, Pangasinan with her two kids. She has always been a diligent, forthright person, open and honest and has a high level of Christian faith and I think it's fair to say devout religious belief. Personally, I have found her belief in God inspiring and as such, I'm really proud to know her as a person and would like to try and help her out with this.

It was a shock when I learnt that Sherryl's Kidneys were failing, it was about three years ago, and I have watched this bright and ambitious single mother of two sell off all her assets and invest everything she has into trying to survive. My small business has been supportive and has shouldered a bit of the burden, and we will also be making a substantial donation to help with the costs below too, however we just can't carry as much as we would like to at the moment, so I'm asking for your help.

In the Philippines, there is no health insurance covering this disease and little if any government support. Every dollar I currently pay her for her salary is going into the ongoing treatment costs that are keeping her alive, and her hope of survival is in getting a replacement donor matched for a kidney transplant to happen. We have a donor, and are blood type matching to make sure that the kidney will be acceptable, but we are lacking the funds to pay for the operation itself.

Two and a half years ago I travelled to the Philippines and met Sherryl for the first time, I also went to the hospital and spoke to her doctor, and saw her hook up to the machine she is now dependent on to live, its a difficult life for her. It takes about 90 minutes travel to get to the hospital and once she's connected, it takes about 5 hours a session to clean the blood in her system, she does this two or three times a week after work and still manages to never miss a day!

One thing I will never forget about that trip to meet Sherryl was her adamant belief that miracles happen every day, you just have to have faith to see them, so here I am asking for you all to believe it too. It doesn't matter if your in a position that you can only afford to donate a dollar, every dollar will help her, believe it and it will happen!

Our goal here is to give her a replacement Kidney and some time to get back on her feet in regards to the ongoing treatment costs after the operation is done so I'm asking for public support to help with the Php1,200,000 transplant operation, and Php135,000 for an emergency Fistula operation needed now and the permanent & ongoing Php31,000 per month post op treatment costs.

At the moment there is an urgency to raise money for an operation to remove a Fistula that has been growing on her left arm that may rupture and possibly kill her imminently.

Hopefully after this emergency operation and then the Kidney transplant she should be in a position to be able to take charge of her life again and continue with the upbringing of her two children. Sherryl and her family, and I would like to also thank you for your support.
