SHE CANCERVIVE: Help my mama win over Colon Cancer.

My 55-year old mama, Anna O. Pasinos, has been diagnosed with colon cancer in 2017, but it's not stopping her from her love for teaching. She is currently teaching Grade 1 pupils here in our barangay.

In December 2016, she began experiencing symptoms such as blood in her stool, persistent abdominal discomfort, and change in her bowel habits. Later in January 2017, she was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer and immediately undergone sigmoidectomy. After then, she was subjected to 8 cycles of chemotherapy. We thought it went well, unfortunately the cancer was not reacting to the drugs.

This year, she has been prescribed with a new course of chemotherapy (Irinotecan + Xeloda which costs 30K). She has finished 4 cycles of this new course when we noticed that her CEA (tumor marker for colon cancer) level is still so high which suggests that the drugs are not working for her. So her doctor decided to add a new drug, Avastin, which costs 135K per 500mg which is needed per cycle.
