HELP BABY SHAUN FIGHT AGAINST LEUKEMIA

October 28, 2020 my 1-year old son Shaun Theo Joves was diagnosed with an Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) . It is a type of cancer in which the bone marrow makes too many immature lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell). His doctors prescribed chemotherapy treatment for 2-3 years which began immediately after his diagnosis. Each chemotherapy session and blood transfusion (if his CBC result is below) is very expensive and thus this campaign was created to assist him in his treatment expenses. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC).

In the past months, we have tried to cover for the medical costs from laboratories, medications, diagnostics, blood transfusions and admissions. We have lined up for government assistance and these have helped but there are still lots of cost that are not covered. We are grateful for the family and friends along the way who continuously extend their help as we would not be at this phase of the treatment without them. Shaun Theo will enter the Phase 1b of his Chemo Protocol for his Cytarabine medicine, his hemoglobin and platelet will drop which will results to blood transfusion. Before Phase 1b will start, the doctors already informed us that once Cytarabine will be injected to Shaun Theo it may lower down his hemoglobin and platelet.

It is killing me a million times every time he cries because of IV cath insertion, every time he needs to undergo fasting due to TIT and BMA procedures. If only I can get the pain from him I will not hesitate to get it.
