Shatterproof Glass: The Film

What is "Shatterproof Glass"?

It's a film about family, love, drugs, addiction, and falling part. It's the story of eighteen-year-old McKenna who is forced to try and keep her siblings together in the wake of their mother's incarceration for drugs while struggling with her own issues of trust and addiction. Written by a young woman who grew up in a similar situation, it gives voice to children and young adults affected by a parent/caregiver with addiction problems.

How will the $1500 be spent?

The initial $1500 we're raising will be included in our pitch to Spartan Films at San Jose State, a one-of-a-kind undergraduate studio that allows students the opportunity to produce feature length films under the guidance of professionals. 

The money will be used for pre-production purchases including, but not limited to:

• permits
• camera lenses/insurance
• inital supplies (paint, wardrobe, lighting rigs, etc)

Any additional funds raised on this platform will be used toward additional pre-production purchases if necessary, or will be rolled over into production costs. Primary production costs will included many of the same items with the addition of a generator renter for out door filming, rental of a box truck to mve equipment, and food/meals for craft services.

Who is involved in this project?

The screenwriter/director is a recent aluma from San Jose State, the remained of the pitch team is current students lookign forward to working on this year's summer project. If chosen by Spartan Films, the crew will consist of 70+ undergraduate students interested in filmmaking. These students will be supervised by university professors and professional filmmakers.
