Campaign Story
Zyd (Zaldy Doel Barrogo Santos), my younger brother, 28 years old. On December 15, 2018 he was diagnosed with acute renal failure, and after a series of tests (CT scan, MRI, Echo, US & Kidney Biopsy) the Nephrologist doctor declared it as a Chronic condition. His company's Insurance policy did not cover Hemodialysis for Chronic Illness, but the said procedure is medically necessary to treat his condition. Currently, the doctor advised to get a Hemodialysis 2 times a week.
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a life we did not choose... but a life we deal with (as a family) everyday. Being poked and prodded, surgery, dialysis, transplants, all temporary ways to prolong Zyd's life.
