Good Day to all you beautiful hearts!

First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this entry. I'm not one to reach out because I like to keep things private but I do understand that there are some things in life that are beyond our control and I'm knocking on your kind hearts to help out if you can.

In an unending episode to this pandemic, the mother of a good friend of mine has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure last December 2020, a condition wherein the heart has a hard time pumping blood. She is 73 and a mother of 11 beautiful children.

A few years back, she lost her husband to natural causes. She lives alone.

One of the main concerns is the shortness of breath and fatigue paired with her existing condition of low to high blood pressure.

She has been under the care of various public medical facilities in Toledo but as her state beings to regress, she needs to travel from the province to Cebu City to get special care. A one way trip is roughly 2 hours from her home.

Initial reports share that she needs to continue taking her medicine to maintain her blood pressure to keep the heart 'stress-free' while being prescribed heart-regulating pills for daily intake.

Recently, the family was asked to buy an oxygen tank for when she has trouble breathing especially at night. The oxygen tank in itself is expensive while the tube has to be replaced monthly as it depletes with each use.

As of this writing, she has been admitted to the emergency room three times and the room expenses in a time of COVID-19 recovery is no joke. Together with the hospital bills, swabs, medical needs, and transportation in and out of the city, it's easy to get lost in all the expenses.

Since her condition is not getting any better, she needs to be re-admitted and further observed as some of the prescribed pills need to be upgraded and dosed higher.

I am aware that you do not know me personally nor the family I am reaching out to help but this is a family who has fought their way through life. Her children are doing the best they can to give back to a mom who has always remained humble in an age where it is easy to get lost in fantasy.

She's a fighter.

She does not know we are reaching out for help because she told us she wants to go at it on her own. Again, there is so much we can do but a little can go a long way.
