We would like to knock on your kind and generous hearts to pray and help us to raise funds to support my father, Renato Rotoni's, hospital bills and medications. Any amount is very much appreciated.
January 14: Around 1PM while Papa's washing his clothes he fainted and lost his consciousness. He was immediately brought to the nearest hospital but unfortunately he was denied because they don't have an ICU facility. Then, he was brought to the next nearest hospital and also denied treatment because they said that the ICU facility that they have was designed for COVID patients only. After 3 hours of finding a hospital, he was finally admitted in Fatima University Medical Center. I knew that it would again take a toll on me and my sister to face this another frightening situation since Mama passed away less than 2 years ago.
Since there's a pandemic going on, he was taken to ICU PUI since he was not yet tested for COVID-19. The Admission office told us that the rate of PUI ICU was 70k per day so it was as if I was literally punched right in the stomach.
January 15: Rapid test came up and he was tested negative (Thank God!). He was then brought in the regular ICU.
January 16: Papa had fever and the doctor advised to undergo x-ray. Unfortunately, when they saw the result of his Xray there're some irregularities/infection (Pneumonia) and right after that he was transferred back in PUI ICU. They said that he'll be there over the weekend because they only conduct swab test during the weekdays. Imagine how our bill would be after a couple of days!
January 18: The doctors told us that Papa needs to undergo an operation called craniotomy and removal of hematoma. His right brain was almost covered in blood and it needs to be removed ASAP. They need our go signal right away so I told them to do the operation without thinking twice. I went to the hospital as soon as they said that they'll do the operation in the evening. At 10PM, his doctor told me that the operation was a success and they removed the hematoma. Also, the nurses told me that the swab test came up negative (Thank God! God is good!) so they'll transfer him in the regular ICU tomorrow morning.
January 19: He was transferred first thing in the morning. Later that day, Papa's neuro doctor told us that there's minimal movement. His recovery after the operation was tremendous. I was relieved to went home and rest for the time being.
January 21: The doctors told us that his consciousness began to deteriorate and he's now under comatose. They said that he's in a critical state and they're giving us 72 hours in order for him to recover. After that, they will not know if he's going to recover or he'll be machine dependent.
January 22, 23 and 24: He does not show any improvement and the 72 hour deadline passed. We don't know what to do but pray and hope that he'll soon wake up and recover from this.
January 25: Doctor said that he was half awake but not yet sure what would be his status for the upcoming days. He said that our prayer was so powerful (Thanks to our immediate family and close friends!).
Up to this day, he was still in the ICU and now he needs to have the tracheostomy to help him to breath. Being intubated after some time can caused infection so the doctor said he needed the operation. This greatly affects our financial capability as the expenses pile up so fast.
From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank you for supporting me and my sister during this difficult time.
May God bless us always.
