Share a Little Love with Lorna

Last October 9, my mother-in-law was diagnosed with pituitary macroadenoma which is a tumor on the pituitary gland near the base of the brain. The tumor is huge which is about 6 cm (2.5 in). The tumor is pressing on the optic nerve causing bad vision. My wife and I had always thought that her vision was just going and we would just take her to get her glasses adjusted. She had never really complained about headaches until recently. Her tumor is also encasing some cranial arteries which would make her operation more complicated. The tumor is also somehow making it hard for her to walk as she can't make normal gaits so she needs to ride a wheelchair to get around.

Her doctor advised that the tumor must be removed immediately and he also advised us to try and get government help by going to a public hospital because he said the operation will be expensive. My wife and my mother-in-law went to a public hospital capable of neurosurgery but the waiting time is too long. She was being scheduled sometime in November just to get work up and additional tests done and the surgery was yet to be scheduled. We didn't want to wait long again because the tumor is huge and will only get bigger. We went to another hospital this time a university hospital as we were referred by a family friend. We met with the doctors. They were very nice, professional and sympathizing. However, the operation will cost PhP 250,000 or about USD 5,000 which is money we currently don't have but this is the immediate life-saving surgery my mother desperately needs.

We are starting this medical fundraiser to be able to save my mother-in-law. She's young, only 57 years old. We want to have many more years with her. We are humbly reaching out to all of you who have good giving hearts to help us save our mom. Thank you and God bless.
