Superheroes wear white coats, not capes and that is what Doctor Shara Que-Felix is— a superhero.

Better known to her little patients as Dr. SharQ, she is deeply loved by all those around her.

Late in her third trimester of pregnancy, Dr. SharQ opened the doors to her pediatric clinic on February 3, 2020. Eight days later, she gave birth to her son, Nacho. She surprised everyone around her when she started working again at three-weeks postpartum; while being a mom has always been her priority, she knew her patients (and their parents) needed her.

On March 15, 2020, the Philippines went into lockdown, but she was not disheartened and began offering free teleconsultations. As the country relaxed its restrictions, her clinic opened again. In response to the “new normal,” Dr. SharQ started doing house calls for the parents of her patients who were worried about leaving their homes.

That all changed on February 4, 2021.

At just 35 years old, Dr. Shara Que-Felix was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL).

We are reaching out to let you know that we are starting a campaign to help Dr. SharQ and her family because we need your help!

Although ALL is the most aggressive type of Leukemia, Shara’s doctor, Dr. Francisco Lopez, has an even more aggressive battle plan that requires Shara to be confined in the hospital for an extended period of time. This means a long road to recovery and a painful amount of time away from her one-year-old son, Nacho, and her family.

While the effects of this disease are devastating in all aspects of her life, the prognosis is a 60 percent survival rate, with a full recovery if she is responsive to her treatments. We believe that with God’s blessing, Shara will make a full recovery. We are claiming it! Together, we will make it a reality.

Throughout the last year, Shara has managed to juggle motherhood and her practice beautifully, but this disease has also affected her livelihood. We ask that you help us ease their financial burden. Throughout her confinement, Dr. SharQ will have to undergo 14 days of intensive chemo treatment wherein she will become immunocompromised. After her three to four weeks admission to the hospital, her blood cancer treatment will also need blood transfusions and a bone marrow transplant which will result in overwhelming expenses. With your contribution, you are not only helping Shara and her family financially— you are enabling them to focus on fighting this disease.

But most of all, you are allowing a pediatrician the opportunity to help more of her patients in the years to come. You are giving a wife and mother a chance to have a fulfilling life with her husband and son.
