Shantini’s Global High Five Challenge

Hi ! My name is Shantini Iyngkaran and I am C8's very own Warm Hug & High five consultant ( the name says it all)

Letting a friend or total stranger know that you want to make that connection and to let them know they are pretty awesome only takes one action and one thought : A high five ! I 've never seen how easy it is to let someone know you love their idea , how well they have done or to show your support with no words but a high five! I have made it my personal mission to connect with at least 1000 people ( its just a baseline) in 30 days and experience a moment of human connection! In today's world where invasion of of personal space overrides a comforting gesture of touch , mobile phones and computer screens are the interface to most communications ..I am  going old skool and spreading some love ! This small touch makes ripples of connections as all funds raised in supporting my challenge go towards  C8's grass roots Australian and International community projects. 

C8 is a grass roots Non for profit , created and run by volunteering young professionals , this organisation is about empowerment and creating social change through the individual and their potential ! We're like a social version of the Dragon's Den ! 

The highlighted project for this fundraiser  is  the Sri Lankan "empowerment projects" , C8 in collaboration with Global Tamil Forum will be growing these projects! 

1. " Build a Community One Cow at a Time" - As communities in the North Eastern province of Sri Lanka start rebuilding after the conflict , Livelihood projects like these empower women to nourish and provide for their families.  Cows provide nutrition and labour to harvest crops - a valuable commodity and it only cost $50 for a cow! One cow can make a difference ! 

2. "Cash Crops" : based on micro-credit system , crops of varying produce are allocated to Women also on the North Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka, to help provide food and a source of income for their families . The aim is to create Farmers markets within each village from the produce from individuals cash crops to support the individual and the sustainable development of their village.
