SF Tremors 14-2 Volleyball Team Fundraiser

Update posted by Mark Cushey On May 23, 2017

At the NCVA Regionals, the 14-2 Tigers finished in the Gold division and in 8th place, which gave them enough points to finish 7th overall in Northern California (out of 117 teams) and earn a bid to the Junior Nationals in Minneapolis.

Thanks to your support, they were able to compete in tournaments throughout the country and now have a chance to play in the Junior Nationals at the end of June.

Thanks again!

The 14-2 Tigers finished in 5th place (out of 140 teams) at the Far Western Qualifier in Reno!

They went 8-1 but lost in the quarter finals on the last day to the Flyers from North Texas (one of the toughest regions in the country). They played some great matches and beat some tough teams from other states but came up just short of qualifying for the Junior Nationals.

Thanks to your support, they were able to go to Denver, Las Vegas and Reno and compete against top teams from everywhere in the US. They have one more chance to qualify for the Junior Nationals, in the NCVA Regionals on May 6-7 in Sacramento.

Thanks again to everyone and we have raised more than $1600 on Go Get Funding!

The 14-2 Tigers finished in 3rd place (out of 128 teams) and won the Bronze medal at the SoCal Qualifier in Las Vegas!

They went 9-2 and were just one match short of making it to the Finals -- losing to the Beach Cities 14-1 from Manhattan Beach (the eventual tournament champions). They played some great matches and had a few great comebacks (were down 8-13 in the 3rd set to the Maverick 900 14-1's, then rallyed and won 19-17) and won the Bronze medal in a close battle, taking the 3rd set 15-13.

Thanks to your support, they were able to go to Las Vegas and compete against top teams from Los Angeles, San Diego, Arizona, etc. Their next chance at winning a JNC bid is in two weeks in Reno at the NCVA Far Western.

The Tigers finished in 9th place (out of 128 teams) & in the Gold division in the 14 American Division at Colorado Crossroads. Though they had hoped to win the tournament and get an automatic bid to the Junior Nationals, they played well and were in the running to win it all on the last day.

On Sat and Sun, they won all their matches in 2 sets going 7-0 – coming back twice to knock off the #5 seed in two sets. On Monday, they were in the Gold Division Bracket but lost in 3 sets to Wave 14-1 Pro from Florida. Lots of back and forth throughout all 3 sets of that final match and the girls played hard and each of them had multiple highlights.

The team was short-handed with three players out and several players playing with the flu but still ended up in the top 10. They hope to build on this and do even better at the SoCal Qualifier in Las Vegas.

For the fundraiser, we passed the $1,500 mark! Thank you everyone … and we hope to continue to raise money for Las Vegas in April. Thank you again for your support.
