Campaign Story
We, the Seychelles Animal Welfare Society, desperately need your help! After years of trying and doing what we can from a dilapidated house in the corner of a private property, the building is now in very serious danger of collapse, leaving our 70+ animals homeless and no base from which to work from. Fortunately we have finally managed to secure a piece of land on which we can build our new facility but we are in a race against time!
Additional info: We are an animal welfare organization run solely by a few volunteers, that actively participates in rescue, education and sterilization/vet campaigns. In the last two years we have been in the process of converting into a cat rescue, though we still rescue canines and other animals together with other organizations. There are currently no proper cat rescue facilities in the country and unfortunately cruelty and neglect is still very common. There are still no Laws in place protecting the welfare of cats and countless cats suffer tremendously on a daily basis. In our new place, we will not just be looking to rescue, treat and rehome domestic adoptable cats but we will also be incorporating a feral cat sanctuary and a basic vet clinic (there is currently only one vet clinic servicing the entire country). Of course we will also be in a position to help more with other animal rescues as well, getting them to organizations equipped to handle them. With Seychelles, being the size that it is, we very strongly believe that we can bring the feral cat issue under control with education, provision of services (especially sterilization) to hard to reach places, and working with other agencies and organisations. We currently have around 50 cats and 20 dogs (varies on a weekly basis as animals are rescued or adopted) many rescued from horrible situations. Help us help them!

You are such good people. We wish you all the best! We were so horrified about all the poor beach dogs that we saw during our vacation in 2017. We always took some water and food with us to do our best while we were there. Hopefully you will be able to build a shelter soon. Our best wishes and merry Christmas!
