Serving in Chad

I have been invited by the Greater Reach Team to serve alongside the Greater Reach Alliance in Chad, Africa this summer. In July, I will be traveling with the Greater Reach Team both from the US and South Sudan to participate in various trainings geared toward serving the indigenous church in refugee camps throughout Eastern Africa. Below is the purpose of Greater Reach Inc.

The Greater Reach team is multi-lingual, multi-tribal, from Christian, Animist, and Islamic backgrounds and personally experienced in the realities facing refugees. They are gifted leaders who are networked, respected, and committed to reaching the less and least reached by transforming communities through equipping and helping to mobilize the refugee church among their displaced peoples. They are uniquely able to quickly adapt the implementation of strategies to respond to the rapidly changing reality inherent in Eastern Africa.

Millions of people are being driven from their country because of persecution and war. Children, young adults, families, and tribes are migrating to closed/restricted countries as well as to refugee camps in South Sudan, Kenya, Chad, Ethiopia, and Uganda. We are compelled to step into the need and bring hope to those in the midst of horrific suffering.

Greater Reach has responded to Jesus’ call to make disciples. Through culturally relevant, biblically based training and trauma healing counseling, the indigenous Church is mobilized. The indigenous Church is strong, present, and actively working to bring hope to those who have experienced trauma, crisis, and extreme loss in Eastern Africa.

As stated above, God is moving in amazing ways through the indigenous Church and your prayers for them as they serve in difficult areas are greatly needed.
