Service Dog for Alan

Hello, my name is Alan.

I am confined permanently in a wheelchair due to Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), and as I am medically certified as a "Fall Risk" when I lift myself into the bath, go to the kitchen, and when going from the wheelchair to the toilet. The medication I am on thins my blood, and a "fall" could result in me bleeding to death because the wound would not clot in time so I would continue losing all my blood.

My doctor and medical specialists have recommended I get a trained "Service Dog".

Unfortunately, Hong Kong does not have any affiliations to Government Service Dog programs (only guide dogs for the vision impaired), or allow Assistance Dog International to have a branch office with dogs and trainers established in Hong Kong and China. In addition, I receive NO Government Financial Assistance, and due to the fact that my wife is the only means of our monthly income. We require outside assistance to maintain a Service Dog..

The fact is that I hold the full financial burden to acquire a "Service Dog" to assure my safety, and my wife will feel more secure knowing the Service Animal is with me at all times to watch over me and be trained to operate the "Medical Alert" device to contact her and medical assistance professionals to connect to any IP cam's to see my actual condition and status inside the apartment, and come to my rescue in the event I would fall.

I currently have prepared the last of my savings in getting the "Service Dog" home (his name is Bubbles), but the costs of the continued training and specific specialty of a Service Dog are far more than then just purchasing (adopting) the animal that I may save my life one day.
