Serve Seattle Tuition

Hello family and freinds!

I am so excited to write and tell you about my plans to live as an urban missionary for the upcoming year! I have the incredible oportunity to be apart of Serve Seattle which is an urban mission institute sponsored by Seattle's Union Gospel Mission. Along with a team of other young adults, I will be living in community, growing in faith through discipleship training, team activities, worship, bible studies, and small groups. As well as growing as a team, we will also be sent out to individually work with and intern in full-time urban ministries in fields of gang culture, at risk youth, homelessness, and sex trafficking (just to name a few) within the community. In these internships we will learn about the complex social justice issues facing the city and how we can use our abilities and skills to address these injustices.

Now that I am about to graduate college and transition into a new chapter in my life, I have never been more eager to give myself completely to God as a tool for His glory. I thirst for the training and opportunity to learn how to be a good disciple, as well as live in a close community of like minded people.  This year is going to truly push and stretch me far beyond my comfort zone and I would greatly appreciate any form of support you are able to give, either financially, a word of encouragement, or just through prayer. I will be sending a monthly letter through email to update everyone about the work I will be doing through my internship and any other adventures that will come on this incredible journey as well as ways you can be praying for me. As a Serve Seattle Team Member, my goal is to raise $5,000 ($500 per month) to cover the cost of housing, food (3 meals a day, 7 days a week), transportation, training and other program costs during my one-year commitment as an urban missionary.
