Septoplasty Before Medical School

I thank you for taking time to read my campaign. My name is Valerie Lopez from South Texas, and I am a 22-year-old gearing up to begin my first year in medical school at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso, TX. It has been a long journey to get to this point, and I am grateful to finally make it to a point where I can begin my studies formally. Although I am very much overjoyed to hit the ground running come the start of first year, there is a condition which I have been battling for the past couple of years. I have been having bouts of panic attacks/anxiety as well as breathing issues due to my deviated septum which has progressively worsened & is now chronically inflamed as I have aged. Since I come from a low income family of six, insurance (other than CHIP up to the age of 18) was never a viable option. This past summer, after undergoing several negative episodes, I decided to visit an ENT in my area. What he then told me is the very reason why I am reaching out through this platform. He prompted me to have a septoplasty with turbinate reduction procedure. He proclaimed that this surgery would correct all of the issues I have been dealing with. Since I am without insurance, and do not have the means to come up with approximately $5000, I am seeking out financial assistance to those who feel it in their spirits to assist. I do hope to have the procedure done before I begin medical school this June 28th. Having this procedure before I begin studying intensely will mean not battling with all of the symptoms I am currently dealing with, and that will change my life as I know it completely. I will be able to study freely, and that thought alone ignites my soul. I have faith that this will come to pass.
