My home is The Geriatric Pet Palace.. I adopt or foster older dogs who have been in a shelter for a long time which comes with some special challenges both financial and logistical but the love I get from these dogs cannot be measured.
I need to raise funds to pay medical and food bills. Meet the Pack:
Franklin on the right was the first member of my pack. He is 14 years old and has been with me for 12 years. He has arthritis in his hips(we give him a joint supplement and manage his pain when necessary), is allergic to everything(antihistamines every day) and is in the early stages of kidney disease(managed by special food).
Dottie on the left has been with me for about 7 months. She was in the shelter for about 6 years before coming to me. She has severe arthritis in her hips and back legs. She walks bow legged due to an old injury we think because her cruciate tendons appear to be damaged. She is on a joint supplement and will need X Rays at some stage to confirm that all is good.
Promise is the newest member of the pack and she is in the middle. She has arthritis in her front legs and we suspect in her hips and hind legs as well. We need to have x rays to confirm this. She has an epulis on her gum which is a usually benign tumor. You can see a pic of it below. Promise is fine with me but terrified of most other people. We have to sedate her in order for the vet to give her a proper examination.
