Senegal 2014

Hi All,

This year I will be returning to Senegal, West Africa, with a team from Calvary Fellowship. This will be my fourth year returning to see the beautiful people of Dakar (the capital) and Baback (a village in the bush). Calvary has partnered with and missions agency based in Senegal called MIS (Mission InterSenegal) for ten years. MIS supports local Senegalese pastors and their churches within in the villages. Each team adopts a village and supports that village as the Senegalese themselves see best.

The pastor of the church within the village of Baback is Pastor Antionne Diouff. He has guided our team through several projects over the years. Some have included fencing around the village school, a mill to help grind millet, as well as several medical clinics. Last year, Antoinne asked us to specifically have times of teaching and story telling. This allowed for us to connect closely with the people of the church.

I was able to spend a great deal of time with the young women of the village. God is doing some amazing things. These women have been told that they must follow a faith different than the one they choose. They often sneak away at night to worship Creator God. It was a rare and special thing to be with these ladies.

This coming year, I will be able to connect with them once again. In a country that is .10% Christian, it is a rare and special thing for them to find encouragement outside of the Christians they already know. By partnering with me and the team, you will be able to be a part of something beautiful that is happening in Senegal.  I fully believe, and have discussed with Senegalese friends, that the country is on the edge of revival, and it will happen through its young people who have found something very different in Jesus. They have found joy. Partnering with MIS through this project will help empower these young women to continue in their incredible faith.
