SENDING TWO BROTHERS TO SCHOOL IN MYANMAR

On May 6th, 2020. I met 2 boys at the place that we were donating fried noodles for the children, and while Sue was speaking with them, and their mother and the other family living in the same area we learned that this 2 boys quit from school 2 years ago because their mother could no longer support their studies. They are both 10 and 12 years old, but so clever and kind, taking care of the house and of their other 4 siblings.

We learned that they used to live in a different region, but in 2008 they lost everything because of the Tropical Cyclone Nargis and them had to move to Nyaung Shwe and restart their lives here. The mother of the boys work at the trash company and the father does not have a regular job.

We asked if they would like to continue studying, and they said yes. So we made an agreement, that they would keep the place they live clean, without trash on the ground and we would bring them material to study at home, for the moment.

On May 9th, we went to visit them, the boys smiled at us when they saw us arriving. I gave them some material, explained how to do, I also gave some material about the period of trash decomposition, so they understand the importance of not littering.

They were so happy with the material, and we promised to visit them again next week. We also shared some snacks with all the children living in the same land.

As my 36 birthday is coming soon, I decided again to do a fundraising in celebration of it. This year is even more special, because we are in the middle of a world pandemic with many uncertain surrounding us. This time I would like to ask you to help me to send this two boys back in the school, so they maybe have a brighter future.

In Nyaung Shwe, Myanmar, the cost to send one boy to the Government School for a whole year in the middle grades is around 400USD. The Government School is free of charge, but the parents must buy uniform, materials, books, and besides that every child need support the school and classroom supplies, such as markers, papers, cleaning material, curtains, etc, besides lunch and snacks. To send this 2 brothers would cost per year at the moment around 800USD.

I cannot imagine how to be my life without my studies, without my diplomas. I know there are thousands of children out of the school, even back in my home country (Brazil), but for the moment I have the chance to support the both of them. Unfortunately I am a volunteer and I do not make any income while volunteering, meaning I don't have all this money to support them. For that reason I would like to ask you as birthday present, a donation of 20USD at least so together we can send them back to school. This is just for the next school year, but I will do my best to continue sponsoring them until they graduate from the High School and do hope to send them to the University, and be the first ones in the family to attend a higher education level.

The government did not announced yet, when the aschool will start at this year, usually starts in June, but because of the Covid-19 Pandemic we think the school will start around August. So we have some time to put all this amount together and surprise them with good news.

Thank you so much for your support and kindness.
