Sending Oak to the Moon

Hello this is Oak Class, we are from Drybrook in England, we are trying to raise around £350 so we can launch a weather balloon. We are doing a project to send a weather balloon into space and become the first class of children to go to space!

Our school is quite small so it is tricky for us to work on this kind of gargantuan project. However, we are a very ambitous class and we try new and exiting things, our teachers and parents would never believe we could do a project so colossal. They would be so proud of us.

We are looking to launch a weather balloon. But we need to raise money to build it first. We want to launch the weather balloon in our school field in June.

We had to find out how much a weather balloon cost so we would know how much we needed to raise.  Then we made some adverts using the iPads to advertise our project to the world. We hope that these adverts will persuade you help fund our project with your generous donations. Also we hope you will share this post with your friends. 

 We are now writing letters to newspapers to persuade them to put our stuff in the newspaper. We will ask them two things, one, to raise money for us and two, to promote our adverts and gogetfunding page. 

By helping us raise money you will be helping the first class in its journey into space.

Thank goodness they dont send monkeys to the moon anymore, now we can send Oak Classes instead.

Teachers Note:

Last term I gave my class the task to researched what would be needed to make a recorded trip into space. With some pointing in the direction of a weather balloon, the class found that they would need about £350 to make this trip a success.

I then challenged the class to work together to create the content for this page in order to persuade the world to help and make the trip a reality. Now this page is live we will be sending out persuasive letters and emails to promote our page.
