Send Tom to the Breakthrough Energy Conference

Hello Friends & Family,

I'm asking for your help to send me to the Breakthrough Energy Conference, Oct. 10-12 in Boulder, Colorado.  This international conference will present the latest information about new energy and how it will help us transition from fossil fuels and nuclear power to abundant, sustainable, decentralized, low-cost energy.

Important though they may be, conventional renewables such as wind, solar, and biofuels can only provide a portion of our energy needs.  The good news: many new energy variants are in late stage testing and demonstration.  However, vested interests in big oil, nuclear, and the natural gas industries have a history of supression of the development and implementation of new energy technologies.  It will require the efforts and intention of many of us to bring out truly game-changing energy production systems.

Beyond the conference, I will offer my time and experience from my 23 years in the environmental and sustainable systems fields as a volunteer with the Portland-based non-profit New Energy Movement*.  Attending the Breakthrough Energy Conference will help me to be a more effective advocate, and will provide priceless networking opportunities.

To you, my supporters, I promise to keep you informed about the conference as it progresses, and about my ongoing volunteer work.  If you like, think of me as your emissary to New Energy Movement.

We can't tolerate any more Fukushimas or Gulf Oil Spills.  Breakthrough energy is now at a tipping point.  It's real and it's here.  And it will take us well beyond all current mainstream and renewable energy production methods.
