Hello,
My name is Tiffany Stuart and I attend, or rather was attending SUNY Cobleskill. I come from a family to which we don't have much, but we appreciate the little things, however appreciating the little things does not help me pay for college. I went to SUNY Cobleskill for one year, and I am suppose to be going back in August. I almost couldn't afford to go the first year, but my mother, being the kind soul she is, despite getting no more then 10,000 dollars a year took out at 13,000 dollar loan for me. Well, she can't do that again, and I don't expect her to. She is on disability due to a back injury which caused her to need 3 back surgeries. I applied for all the federal aid, and all the loans and grants I could find and I qualified for, but again that isn't going to be enough. They will not give me more aid because of my step fathers income, even though he is not helping me. In the middle of my second semester I ended up in the hospital due to pains in my stomach. I ended up going to the hospital 4 times in the course of 2 weeks. I had my gallbladder removed, and then had a bad reaction to the medicine they gave me. I ended up exhausting my savings paying for hundreds of dollars of hospital bills. I have been working all summer, and trying to find a second job to even afford a payment plan to go back to college, but it is still not enough. As of this moment, it is nearly 4 in the morning, and I haven't slept in nearly 3 days, on top of working, because I have been constantly looking for scholarships, loans, and applying for anything financial aid would cover. This is by far my last option before I lose my dream of becoming a dog trainer for the military or police force. My major is Animal Science BT with a focus in canine, and though last semester I got 5 A's and 2 B's with a GPA of 3.7 for that one semester, but both semesters together I have an accumulative GPA of 3.1. I promised my mother I would work my butt off so I would not end up broke due to not getting a college education like she did. I was planning on taking 18 credits next semester to try and catch up in my major due to changing after my first semester, but I'm afraid that won't happen. I'm afraid I won't achieve my dream. I have worked too hard to lose this now. Not only did I work hard to overcome my dyslexia I had as a child, but I have to work even harder to do good just as everyone else does because I have ADHD, and sometimes have trouble concentrating, or even remembering things. I'm learning control, especially when it comes to something I love such as canine training. I would truly appreciate any donations, even if it a small one. Every little bit helps, and It would not be a waste. I intend to do nothing other then my best if I can go back another year. I must have the money to return before August 11th, or all these late nights, and ten hour days, forty hour weeks at work, while looking for a second job, and applying for anything under the sun, would have been for nothing.
Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Tiffany Stuart.
