The UP Singing Ambassadors (UPSA) is one of the official performing groups of the University of the Philippines. With founder and conductor Dr. Ed Lumbera Manguiat at the helm, UPSA has garnered for the country 5 Grand Prizes, 23 First Prizes, and other special awards in 18 European choral competitions since 1992.
In celebration of UPSA's 38th year, the group will participate in four (4) Choral Competitions in Berlin, GERMANY; Torrevieja, SPAIN; and Florence & Arezzo, ITALY this coming July until August of 2018.
Winning the Grand Prize in Arezzo, ITALY, as UPSA have achieved in 2001, would qualify the group to vie for the most coveted choral prize in the world—the European Grand Prix (EGP), once more.
The group is currently trying to raise at least P7.8M for basic airfare, bus transportations, occasional board, and incidental lodging. The group plans to leave in June and come back in September this year.
Your help would go a long way in support of a noble endeavour of today’s young artists—not only performing choral music, but also engaging in outreach programs and fundraising activities for the less-privileged, the sick, and the poor who are constant recipients of the group’s musical generosity.
Beyond your financial support, UPSA asks for your moral support in their upcoming journey. Thank you so much for your generosity!
